We’ve found you five of the best off grid getaways around Australia to help you switch off from all the white noise and regain your much-needed inner Zen. And these sneaky trips are so refreshing, you’ll probably want to make it a monthly occasion.

#1 Unyoked – Various Locations, NSW/VIC

Here we have the new big thing in weekend getaways – the tiny house. Unyoked is a prime and beautifully designed example of what ‘off the grid’ really means. Miles from anywhere or anyone, buried deep in the wilderness, you can be completely self sufficient. With six different locations no more than two hours from either Sydney or Melbourne, Unyoked is remote enough to get your disconnect detox going, but close enough to jump in the car at the last minute. And if books are your thing, they even have a collection of Penguin Classics for you to get your nose into during your stay. Moby-Dick, anyone?

#2 CABN – Adelaide, SA

For those of you down in South Australia, we have another beautiful cabin. Again, merely an hour away from the city, CABN allows you to indulge in your detox from reality. Set on 180 acres of land in the Adelaide Hills, it’s perf for trek and features some damn incredible scenery (ideal for chucking on the ‘gram – after your trip, of course). What’s more, the Adelaide Hills is full of wineries so why not stop off at a few on the way and stock up on a bottle or two? It can be our little secret.

#3 BubbleTent – Capertree Valley, NSW

If you’re looking for something completely different with more of a romantic vibe, BubbleTent provides the ultimate way to immerse yourself in nature, quite literally. Three locations with breathtaking views over the Capertree Valley will definitely equate to the perfect non-city, romantic getaway. You can gaze up at the stars from your own bed and for the ultimate way to get up close and naked with nature, there’s an outdoor wood fired bathtub to relax and enjoy some bubbles, inside and outside of your glass. So clue in your partner, or new flame, and really get that relationship burning.

#4 Shacky – High Country, VIC

Disconnect from the noise of the city and rekindle with those who matter ☺️ . by @cat.law

Surprise, surprise, yet another tiny house. They have a few spots, and our fave is their spot in  the Yarra Valley, just over an hour out of Melbourne. Nestled within the beautiful olive trees, you’ll have everything you need to embark on your digital detox. Even better, your hosts can shop for groceries so all the goodies you need for your stay are in the cabin when you arrive – perfect if you’re going straight from work on a Friday. Be sure to keep an eye on these guys, they have another four Shackys in the woodworks set to open by the end of the year.

#5 Kimo Estate – Gundagai, NSW

A post shared by Kimo Estate (@kimoestate) on

For a little bit of extra luxury, this glamping style hut sitting on the hills of Kimo near Gundagai is sure to recharge your batteries. There are breathtaking views from every angle of the property, along with a stunning Scandinavian inspired interior for all you design lovers out there. Although a slightly higher price than the rest, Kimo Estate is not to be missed and is the perfect stopover if you’re on a road trip between Sydney and Melbourne.
