5 New Cafes in Canberra To Taste

There are so many new coffee places and cafe’s that have been opening in Canberra that my list is ever growing. The nations capital is set to give it’s neighbouring cities a run for their money thanks to it’s extensive brunch menus and seasoned baristas.

#1 Nookie Espresso Bar – Canberra City

Nookie Espresso Bar used to be a cute ‘hole in the wall’ style shop selling deliciously brewed coffees and now they have expanded to a cafe space that is also open for breakfast and brunches. If their coffee is anything to go by the food would be delightful. They also sell some great takeaway breakfast options if you’re on the run!

#2 The Public Place – Chisholm

Something new and exciting for you south siders! The Public Place cafe has so many dietary requirement boxes ticked such as gluten free, paleo and vegan options available. They also stock every variety of milk you could dream of, so you can have any kind of coffee you need. PLUS you can bring your dog here so that is a win!

#3 The Bearded Bean – Canberra City

Customisable coffees, hot chocolates and breakfasts? Yes please.  This cafe is new on the scene in the middle of the city and I have heard nothing but greatness about it. The guys have racked up 5 stars on Facebook too so you know they’re crushing it. A chilled friendly vibe, great coffee and an interesting menu. Beards included – Nice work fellas, nice work.

It’s located in the concrete jungle of Canberra, but 1 On One is set to be Barton’s newest hot spot. It’s the perfect space to lounge and unwind with friends, and the large space even caters for your lunchtime business meeting. Even better, the moment you enter you are enticed with that lush smell of roasted coffee beans and baked goods. They provide you with more than snacks and takeaway goods, if it is a brunch or lunch you’re after, there is an extensive menu with all things eggs, burgers and salads.

#5 Coffee Lab – Canberra City

Okay Coffee Lab isn’t that new however it is definitely worth a mention. Coffee that is brewed so precisely and with so much love you won’t be disappointed. They sell all different types of coffee and you can get cold brew too – perfect now that the weather is heating up. The cafe has alot of seating, indoors and out and there is plants and exposed wood everywhere. Similarly to Nookie Espresso Bar they started selling only coffee and the demand for food was so high that they now have a full 7 days a week all day breaky menu. Breakfast for lunch anyone? Delicious.
