A Totally Hot Santa Monica Pop Up Is Coming To Sydney And I’m Like, Omg

There are many reasons why I’ve always wanted to travel to SoCal.

The idea of strolling through Hollywood, casually running into a celebrity, cruising along the coastline, running around Disneyland (omg), the eternal summertime. Oh and, like, to see if they, like, actually do, like, talk like how we, like, think they, like, talk. Could you imagine?

But one of the other major draws is their food.

So, I’m, like totally pumped that an epic celebration of all things Santa Monica food and life will be coming to Sydney this Spring.

Set to launch on September 22 2019, our mates at Pier One Sydney Harbour will be bringing all the laid-back Santa Monica vibes and culinary delights to life in a six-week waterfront pop-up.

The summe-in-spring extravaganza includes a curated menu of So-Cal-style food and bevs, live cooking demos with award-winning Santa Monica chefs, free wellness and fitness experiences, organic farmers markets and live music sunset sessions. More details below.

Can I get a “that’s hot”?

And for those travel-nuts looking for the ultimate summer getaway, a simple post to the ‘gram could score you a trip to Santa Monica. One trip is up for grabs each week of the program, thanks to Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, United Airlines and 7Travel. All you have to do is post and tag #santamonicasydney to your grid.

You’ll have six chances to win and soak up the SoCal sun as the festival runs for six weeks from

Sunday 22 September to Thursday 31 October.

And there’s no way you’ll be bored with all of this stuff

Wellness Wednesdays

We’re talking a “free waterfront Yoga and Pilates sessions” on the pier to “soak up some Santa Monica soul”. How zen. Get your free tickets online.

Friday Twilight on the Pier

Inspired by the sessions held on the iconic Santa Monica Pier in Autumn, on Fridays from 4pm come down for “the love of live music, good food, great drinks and fun times with friends while enjoying the spectacular sunsets over the ocean”.

Saturday ROGA

Running + yoga is the vibe for Santa Monica locals. A partnership with lululemon, start your Saturday with a 2.5km run from Luna Part to Pier One where you’ll jump into a max-chill yoga session in front of the stunning harbour views. This one’s free, so book your spot early online.

Sunday Farmers Markets

Santa Monica’s all about farm-to-plate freshness, so “three bespoke certified organic mini-farmers markets” are coming to the pier on Sunday 29 September, 6 and 13 October. From 10am til 2pm one of the “acclaimed Chefs will offer a free cooking demonstration, sharing a personal recipe” for you to try at home. Yum!
