With the unrelenting Aussie bushfires, and America instigating a war with Iran, it’s been a pretty awful start to 2020 – but, finally, some non-tragic news: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are ditching the royal Family to start a new, more “progressive” life in the US, and honestly – GOOD.
In a statement released officially on their Instagram, the couple have stepped down from being senior royals. And, they’re fucking up the royal family as much as possible on the way out. I’m living for this tea.
Firstly, the couple literally referred to their exiting of the royal family as pursuing something more “progressive.” I love this because the royal family is a gross amalgamation of parasitic colonisers, which is absolutely not progressive at all. (I’m looking at you Queen Elizabeth – I know you never gave back the jewels you stole from India).

So, What’s Their Plan?
Megan and Harry are planning to yeet off to America, splitting their time in the UK so their son Archie can have a life outside of the royal setting. Which, IMO, is good parenting.
According to the BBC, the cancellation of their royal status totally blindsided the royal family.
“Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through,” said the statement from the Buckingham Palace.

It seems like the royal family is trying to talk Meghan and Harry out of it, which I doubt will happen because if anyone fucking hates the royal’s drama, it’s Meghan and Harry.

I mean, this is the royal couple that literally took legal action against newspapers for bullying, and compared Meghan’s harassment to that which destroyed Princess Diana.
“I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person,” Harry previously said. “I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”

They also plan to abandon the arrangements that only allow a bunch of specific British tabloids exclusive access to royal events . That’s basically another “fuck you” to the racist tabloids that harassed and bullied Meghan.

According to Meghan and Harry’s new website, they’ll be focused on working with young journalists and “credible media outlets focused on objective news reporting to cover key moments and events,” rejecting the old and dodgy ways the royals previously dealt with media.
This is a pretty bad time for the royal family’s rep, since Prince Andrew is still under fire for being friends with billionare paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, and the ongoing drama surrounding their treatment of Meghan Markle. And I don’t feel any sympathy at all.
