5 Best Boozy Brunches On The Cheap In Sydney

Boozy brunches are the new Saturday night out – and for so many good reasons. Sydney venues have taken note from international brunch scenes, like NYC, and are offering bottomless bubbles packages, a spread of top-notch food and plenty of time to kick-back and catch-up with mates – minus the line-ups, angry bouncers and packed-out clubs. Go on, get your crew together and take your pick from these budget-friendly day drinking spots – you won’t be disappointed.

#1 Kensington Street Social

For a lazy inner-city fringe session, Kensington Street Social (KSS) has you covered. Their hour and a half bottomless bubbles package offers a generous serving to help you kick-start your weekend, and it’s only 35 bucks. KSS offers an extensive menu of a mix of traditional brunch classics, share plates and more hearty lunch options. Go for a spread of the sourdough flatbreads (aka brunch pizzas, $18 each) of roast mushroom or, spiced lamb merguez. Add the breakfast rice of slow cooked eggs, shiitake mushroom, pork belly, bacon dashi ($18) and you and your Saturday set will be sorted.

#2 Since I Left You

This monthly brunch affair at Since I Left You kicks off this with an hour and a half of bottomless cocktails, followed by some delicious food and classic hip hop beats, all for…wait for it…$53! Feast on a selection of their house waffles and other party-sized main course treats before kicking back for an arvo hip hop jam session, spun by special guest DJs. You’ll prob wanna stick around for when they hand the mic to the floor to those brave hip hop karaoke bandits amongst the tribe.

#3 Ananas

Get your favs together and tantaslise the taste buds with some oh la la French fare, whilst BYO’ing at Ananas! Yup, bring your own budget-friendly bubbles or wine to this brunch session for a per bottle corkage fee of $12 each (yip, a little steep, but worth it!). Take a share-plate approach with picks like the seasonal oysters with mignonette and lemon, pumpkin risotto and the Moroccan spiced lamb shank. The dosh you’ve saved on booze means you can enjoy more delicious dishes between you all. Divvy-up the day’s bill for approx $60 each.

#4 El Camino Cantina

When you’re having a fresh-as and ready to see out the weekend in style on the cheap – check-out the $29 11am – 3pm brunch deal at El Camino Cantina. Get the hour-long drinks deliver of margaritas, beers and bloody mary’s alongside food offerings like the steak and egg chilaquiles, wild mushrooms and eggs or the huevos and chorizo. You can even build-your-own tacos with house-made chorizo, scrambled eggs, flour tortillas and pico de gallo. Stay around for the live music and you’ll probably start to wish it were Saturday.

#5 Sneaky Possum

We are digging everything about the Sneaky Possum – Chippendale’s newest kid on the block. Not only for the name but the food is absolutely out of this world, oh, and there’s rose on tap. Yup, you can sip on glasses of Riot Wines’ tapped Rose, but be sure to get extra savvy on the 500ml deal (much cheaper than a glass). The weekend breakfast menu is available until 3pm, but for some seriously good grub – skip over to the lunch menu for the wagyu beef burger and killer cheese boards. You can sneak out with a boozy glow and full belly for a smooth 50 bucks a head.
