Actor Cameron Boyce passed away this weekend in his sleep at just 20 years old. His untimely death came from a medical condition he’s been struggling with for a while. Boyce’s passing is shaking the world, as he’s always been such a bright, positive influence. He used his time with us making us laugh, being a humanitarian, and using his artistry for good. Needless to say, we’re all mourning this tragic loss.
Boyce’s death was confirmed by his family. They shared with ABC News, “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”
“The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”
Boyce is a Disney Channel star, featuring in childhood hits Jessie and the movie Descendants 3. Many fans, including myself, recall all the times they turned Jessie on the TV after school awaiting Boyce to make them laugh.
However, he’s been on the big screen for over a decade. His first role came when he was just 9 years old, and landed a role in horror film Mirrors. Boyce was in adult movie Grown Ups starring as one of Adam Sandlers children.
Adam Sandler took to Twitter to share his thoughts and remembrance of Boyce. And warning, it’s bloody gut wrenching.
Sandlers says, “Too young. Too Sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.”

More than just an actor, Boyce was also a bit of an activist himself. In recent years, Boyce absolutely dedicated himself to charity work, raising over $30,000 for wells offering clean water in Swaziland. Last year, Boyce received the Pioneering Spirit Award for his nonprofit at The Thirst Gala.
Twitter is flooding today with fans, coworkers, and friends commemorating the death of Boyce. It’s clear, he will be forever missed.
Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Cameron Boyce. When we met I was taken aback by his energy and drive, his dedication to his craft and the sheer kindness he exuded. It was a joy to witness the man’s skill. Sending love to his family and loved ones.
