If the lure of the beer maid outfit or suspenders is too much to ignore here’s the perfect excuse. Munich may be just a tad to far away for a pint or two so we’ve located the best beer halls to enjoy Oktoberfest across the country. Sydney

Oktoberfest in The Gardens – 29th October

From 1-9pm dive into celebrating like a true German, dress up and drink til your hearts content. Oh and there’s a commemorative stein for the mems.

Concordia Club Tempe – 1st ,2nd,8th ,9th October

Over two weekends at the German club expect a real taste of German food and lots of beer. Music by the Bavarian Boys so you can expect some authentic sounds too.

Melbourne

Oktoberfest in The Gardens – 22nd and 23rd October

Put your lederhosen on and dance the night away or back it up and spend the whole weekend beer in hand. An open air German dance affair? Done

Hoptober Fest – 16th September through to 23rd October

Why limit the celebrations to a single day? Enjoy a whole fest of Oktober from dachshund racing to sausage eating competitions it’s a cultural immersion program for more than a month. Sign us up.

An eclectic mix of entertainment and an array of beer makes this a pretty epic way to celebrate it. Dress ups are a must.

Oh this is about as authentic as it gets, barrel rolling, pork knuckle tasting ceremony and a lederhosen fashion show. Pull on your finest knee highs and get amongst it.

Elmar’s Oktoberfest  – 15th, 22nd, and 23rd October

Oktoberfest at Hobart Brewing Company – 8th October

The Hobart Brewing Company will be turned into a Bavarian Beer hall for you to drink your weight from a golden stein. Fire-roasted German food and outdoor music provides a superb atmosphere to enjoy a beer by the stein.
