Remember Fyre Festival, everyone? I encourage you all to take a long and tragic walk down memory lane with me. Launched in 2017, Fyre Festival had the bones of every festival goers’ dream. Hosted on an exclusive island, previously owned by Pablo Escabar, no less, the festival promised everything under the sun. The tickets were said to go for around $12,000. Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski and Bella Hadid all promoted the event on Instagram.
It was promised to be one of the most glamorous and exclusive festivals in the world. However, it slowly descended into an eerie modern-day recreation of Lord of the Flies. ‘Luxury villas’ turned out to be tents. ‘Gourmet food’ was cheese on bread. ‘High level security’ was lockers. Festival-goers weren’t told they had to bring their own locks. Looting and general chaos ensued when everyone realised there was no organisation, and they were in it for themselves. The festival cemented itself as one of the greatest disasters of all time.
Hey @GordonRamsay what would you rate #fyrefestival gourmet meals? pic.twitter.com/SYJIgwAIYp

Was Fyre Festival a horrible mistake? A scam from the get go? Who’s to say. Organiser Billy Macfarland is currently serving his six year sentence for wire fraud.
Teaming with Vice, Netflix just released the trailer for FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened. It promises to delve into the complete disaster of the festival, and we couldn’t be more excited to watch. Check out the full trailer here.
