RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars is back for its fifth season, friends! And this time, All Stars rules have been suspended… FOREVER!
Season 12 of Drag Race is set to wrap up next weekend (#TeamGigi <3) in a virtual finale. I have no idea how it’ll work with the remaining three queens lip-syncing for the crown, but I’m here for it. From 6 June though, we’ll have All Stars to get us through, and this season everything is getting shaken up.

Don’t miss the PREMIERE of #AllStars5 with extra-special guest judge @Ricky_Martin FRI 6/5 at 8/7c on @VH1! 👑
As we can see in this teaser promo, we can expect a lot of twists and excitement. First of all, the first guest judge is set to be Ricky Martin! Jane Krakowski, Tessa Thompson, Sarah Hyland, Nicole Byer, Bebe Rexha, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, and heaps more are lined up to guest judge throughout the rest of the season.
Usually in All Stars, the top two queens of the week lip sync against each other to determine who the winner for the week is. That queen then decides who of the bottom two queens is to be eliminated. This season though, queens will have to “lip sync for their legacy” against past lip-sync assassins. These assassins will be a different super star queen each week.
If the all-star wins the lip sync, they win $10,000 and will have the power to eliminate the bottom queen of her choice. If the assassin wins, however, a secret group vote decides who of the bottom queens will have to sashay away, and the money rolls over until an all-star wins! That could be a lot of money…

🌟 Bring back my girls! 🌟 #AllStars5 premieres FRI 6/5 at 8/7c on @VH1! 🏁💋
The queens competing for a spot in the “Drag Race Hall Of Fame” and $100,000 this season are Alexis Mateo (Season 3, All Stars 1), Blair St Clair (Season 10), Derrick Barry (Season 8), India Ferrah (Season 3), Jujubee (Season 2, All Stars 1), Mariah Paris Balenciaga (Season 3), Mayhem Miller (Season 10), Miz Cracker (Season 10), Ongina (Season 1), and Shea Couleé (Season 9).
Usually All Stars features queens who haven’t yet competed for a spot in the Hall of Fame. But I think we can all agree that this season, all the usual Drag Race rules have been thrown out the window.
I’ve got my money on Shea Couleé this season, after she was narrowly beaten out by season 9 winner, Sasha Velour. She absolutely slayed in season 9, so I have no doubt that she’ll do it again in All Stars. Just check out her skills from 2:04 in this:
I’m gagged. Get keen, everyone. Let’s hope there’s no insane drama this season.
