The Top Vegan Destinations Around The World

From mediterranean spice to the best polenta fries.

Veganism is becoming huge around the world, and 5-10 years ago, a lot of vegans would have struggled to travel the world whilst sticking to their diet. Now, it’s a different story.

Tour operator, Topdeck recently carried out a survey and found that food and drink was the second highest expense when travelling. And for a specific diet, costs could go through the roof.. if you’re able to find the right ingredients first. We’ve picked the three top destinations, as well as suggestions of where to get some good grub from.

#1 Tel Aviv, Israel

Vegans, rejoice! Israel has the highest percentage of vegans globally (almost 5% are forgoing animal products), so naturally, some of the best vegan restaurants can be found in Tel Aviv, on the country’s Mediterranean coast. The city itself boasts over 400 vegan friendly places to eat at, not to mention Vegan Fest, a huge festival which happens annually every September. It’s not just all about the food though, Tel Aviv offers an array of nightlife, culture and shopping, to compliment the falafels and hummus, obviously.

Nanuchka

This place is the first Georgian Vegan restaurant in the world. Its’ antique setting is full of character and the artwork on the walls is all made by local Israeli artists. Traditional Georgian dishes such as dumplings and baked Khachapuri gives you an authentic experience in the heart of the city. Plus a cocktail or two.. which goes without saying.
