Virgin Australia Is Selling Tix From $79, So You Can Still Have A EuroSummer (Of Sorts)

EuroSummer but make it domestic.

Though interstate and international borders may be closed, that doesn’t mean holidays are off the cards.

Virgin Australia is here to get our wanderlust kicking again, dropping some flights as low as $79 to lure us back to the airport.

Dubbed the ‘Let Your State Surprise You’ sale, Virgin is cutting prices on domestic flights from midnight Monday 17 August until 11:59 PM Wednesday 19.

For New South Welsh-folk dying for a beach getaway, you can book tickets from Sydney to Ballina from just $79.

Queenslanders can check out the top-end of their sunshine state for as little as $115, flying from Brisbane to Rockhampton.

And if Western Australians are yet to check out Broome, you can fly out from Perth for a minimum $199.

How. Bloody. Good. Is. That?

This 40,000 seat sale, according to a Virgin Australia spokesperson, focuses on Australia’s demand for regional tourism given the ongoing restrictions and hard borders between ‘hotspot’ regions around the country.

So instead of pining over the EuroSummer that will never be, why not get out and explore the beauty of your own state? I mean, Australia’s a pretty big place, I doubt you’ve seen all of it let alone all of your state.

But there is a catch. To be eligible for the discount, bookings must have a minimum of two travellers.

Seems like it’s prime time for cheap but nonetheless fun intrastate road trip (of sorts) with your BFF. Or a romantic getaway with your SO (I mean, love in lockdown could be getting a little stale). Or even flying your parents up and out of the house for a little while to give yourself (and them) time away from you.

Also, with these cheap-as-chips ticket prices, that means there’s plenty more room for buying goodies while you’re away – so pack light. That way everyone’s getting a leg up, aviation, local tourism, and local businesses. And who doesn’t love a souvenir?
