Going out for dinner is always such a delight. Don’t ‘ya just enjoy getting a bit more dressed up than your average breakfasts and lunches where active wear is a common theme? So if you’re hanging in the nation’s capital, we’ve got a few of our fave dinner spots to dig your teeth into.

The Dock – Kingston Foreshore

Right by the lake with outdoor seating and a large bar The Dock is a great place for dinner and drinks. They have different deals for different nights of the week – two for one pizzas on a Monday anyone? Sport is always playing and it’s a good in-between of dressed up and casual.

Blu Ginger – Canberra City

For one of the best Indian meals in Canerra you can’t go past Blu Ginger. I’ve never been disappointed here and have only ever heard good things. The dishes are authentic and delicious and the staff are always accomodating and lovely. Bring a crowd at eat your way through the menu. Mmm curry!

Akiba – Canberra City

Voted Australia’s top restaurant in 2016 you know you have to try it! With an Asian street food influence and many different menu and drink options it’s sure to excite you. Plenty of outdoor seating now that the weather is warmer too. They have a great online booking system that is worth booking in advance for as tables book out super fast. An authentic little slice in the nation’s capital.

Civic Pub – Braddon

If you’re a local Canberran you may read this and think, really Helena? Well yes, it’s actually a pretty good space for dinner and drinks since the refurbs, can’t say I’ve ever been disappointed by the food either. They’ve got a huge menu – suitable for any palette or diet and the sweet potato chips are a must. The drinks are reasonably priced, it fits large groups and did you want to shoot some pool after a bite to eat? Because there are endless tables (Someone feel free to teach me how to play).
