Aussie Fashion Labels To Watch In 2017

As the seasons change and the leaves turn then flutter, so too does our wardrobe change.  We’re a trend driven bunch, buying whatever Instagram follows deem the hottest new thing (hello Gucci tee). But if you’re keen to stay ahead of the curve or set your own trends, we’ve rounded up a bunch of stellar local creatives producing wares you’ll be adding to cart eagerly. From leather finery to draped magic and streetwear you’ll never want to take off, these local legends are worth a wear.

Kacey Devlin

Winning national designer at VAMFF is the final jewel in the label’s crown, onwards and upwards for the year ahead. Creating luscious pieces you can twist, turn and drape multiple ways, each piece has an unrivalled wearability about it.

Chelsea Eve

Delicate lace in an array of colours, darling sets and one off pieces that you’ll be dying to wear, Chelsea Eve is an Adelaide success story. Turning her Instagram following into a booming business, it’s the perfect wear for that special occasion. If you don’t have one, you’ll be finding any excuse to tie up the divine crops.

Isabelle Quinn

Easy, breezy, beautiful, linen. The heat of Aussie summer saw Isabelle Quinn’s light design proliferate like no tomorrow, but her seasonal offering is set to be just as enchanting. With a focus on ready to wear with a touch of high fashion excess, like corsetry elements you can actually wear. We love.

Third Form

A label mastering intricate simplicity. Hand sewn touches and hardware elements make each silhouette come to life in a particularly charming way. Nonchalant in fabric form.

The A-Line Label

Turning the feminine cut into a whole collection of wearable designs, Sydney offering The A-Line Label is one to watch. Floaty and fitted in equal measure, this is the sort of cuts for a polished woman. The Mosman label is in it’s early stages, but we see big things ahead.

Eliya The Label

Textured designs and embellished beauties, Eliya The Label is a brand that will win you over with each unique creation. It’s luxe designs feel much more expensive than their accessible price, and even if you haven’t heard the label before I guarantee you’ll recognise their wears. Founded in 2016, 2017 is set to be an even more exciting year for the stunning brand.

Isle + Arlo

With a mantra of luxe and simplicity in equal measure, the leather goods of Isle + Arlo are already an influencer favourite. Beautifully made slides in a selection of prints, they’re the perfect addition to your go-to weekend outfit. The leopard pair is particularly dazzling.

Emperor Apparel

A streetwear favourite of the Culture Kings crowd, it’s simple and wearable in perfect balance. Branded impeccably and quality cotton make for tees that won’t weather with each wash. The Melbourne label has been a sell out favourite from day dot, an offering that’s well and truly ahead of the game.

S O F Í A The Label

A label focused on classics and with their firs offering of silks screaming eternal glamour, we’d say they’re right on the mark. The Perth brand has exploded onto the evening wear seen with a mix of gowns and ready to wear numbers. An Instagram star to watch.

L’Avenir Est

We don’t even know what’s in the box, but the packaging alone has us bursting with curiosity. A brand born by two fashion aficionados Pepe Siyavong and Shayne Tino, the Melbourne brand is sure to have a following from the outset. All we know now for the moment is there’s Japanese denim involved and a passion for quality craftsmanship. 2017 is looking particularly huge for the fledgling label and we’re ecstatic.

Elvis Et Moi

Hand made jewellery with a spiritual touch, Elvis et Moi will enchant you with each piece. The designer pours her French sensibility into every collection with incredible poise. Making for a range worth layering up and wearing all day long.

Natalie Rolt

Perth label going from strength to strength, 2016 saw her show in NYC, so 2017 is guaranteed to be an impressive one. Evening wear that has the Western Australian set well dressed for every occasion, we can only hope this year sees a eastern outpost.

Pfeiffer The Label

Focusing on the modern wardrobe and building it piece by perfect piece, to make getting dressed simple and fun. They’ve made their name with billowing cuts and a fine and light silouhette but we’re particularly keen to see their Autumn collection, with an injection of pattern.

Alter Ego Label

Launched by fashion blogger Shannen Jai, a Melbourne local living abroad, the brand is crafted with the sexy, empowered woman in mind. Expect dangerous cut outs, sumptuous flows and a daring aesthetic. It’s bold, eye-catching and Jai’s fans are sure to bring about a big year for the new brand.
