Sundays sessions can either be a great idea or one that you regret for a week. They can be the end of a three-day bender or a treat yo’self after a weekend of not much. Luckily, the hospitality industry of Sydney offers some of the best Sunday sessions in Australia.
#1 Good For Live Music
4 Pines Brew Pub
4 Pines has grown from being a microbrewery based in Manly to one of Australia’s favourite craft beers. Despite being recently bought by AB InBev, the world’s largest brewing company, they are still a craft brewery at heart. There is no better place to sample their entire range of beers than at their brewery in Manly. Every Sunday, 4 Pines puts on their Sunday Session Live Music so you can enjoy a day at the beach and finish it with some beers and live music with your mates.
#2 Good For A Deal
The Dolphin Hotel
Many apertivo hours are designed to bring people in on the traditionally slower days, but not at The Dolphin. Their sesh starts at 5pm on Sundays and includes Wine, Beer and food. No two apertivo hours are the same and the management works hard to get new chefs and winemakers to come and serve their offerings in a casual environment. This is the place to get the best bang for your buck on a Sunday.
#3 Good For Atmosphere
Lord Gladstone
Lord Gladstone is one of those bars that mingles a diverse group of people, from eastern beaches models to the Newtown indie kids and everyone in between. Their rotating Sunday sessions have become legendary. On any given Sunday it could be a disco party or a hip hop graffiti party, just depends on the weekend. Gladstone is made for the casual drinking session, come for a chilled arvo session and you’ll leave in the early morning.
#4 Good For A Beer Garden
The Oaks Hotel
The Oaks Hotel is possibly the most well-known pub on the lower North-shore and for good reason. This gigantic hotel is home to a 70-year-old oak tree which is the centrepiece of their large beer garden. The garden is always heaving, and a Sunday evening is the perfect time to enjoy the fairy lights that hang in the tree.
#5 Good For A View
Watsons Bay Hotel
Sydney Harbour is a sight to behold, it is the reason that Sydney is one of the top tourist destinations in the world. So bask in it’s glory and watch as the sun retreats behind it, all from the comfort of Watsons Bay Hotel. The Harbour provides a stunning backdrop for this swanky hotel, which is known for its contemporary nautical look. Enjoy the fresh seafood and $10 frosé on a sun-drenched arvo.
