Acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis has reinvented Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book. Again. And we’re not exactly complaining about it. The creators have switched up the name to ‘Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle’ and is set to be a pretty dark movie, much like the 2016 remake. It might turn out to be even darker so definitely not one for young kids.
The new film which will be released exclusively on Netflix features actors Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto, Matthew Rhys and Naomie Harris. A bloody good line up if you ask me.
The film itself looks to diverge from the original storyline in the trailer. Mowgli seems to be ‘reunited’ with the humans, but then questions his decision with obvious twists and turns along the way. What we can say is, it’s nothing like the 1967 animation and definitely deviates from the storyline of the 2016 remake. Excited, much?
Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle will be released globally on Netflix on December 7. So clear your diaries, folks.
