Blurred Lines. Robin Thicke, Pharrell and Producers sued for $7 mill+ for copying Marvin Gaye’s Got to Give it Up – fair?
I’ve heard both songs being played after one another and it does sound very similar. I reckon it is fair for the family of Marvin Gaye, however I also think this could set a precedent for future court cases for such incidents – could be disastrous for the music industry.
Malaysian Airlines. Will MH370 ever be found? Coincidence or conspiracy?
I certainty hope that they find the plane especially for the families of those missing, but as time goes by it is looking less likely. I think it’s a coincidence, the plane had mechanical issues before it left the runway.
Mumford and Sons. Fan of the new track? Or devo that the banjo is gone?
Definitely a fan of the banjo, devastated that is gone.
Apple iWatch. Necessary gadget or waste of time (exucse the pun)? Will you be getting one?
I won’y be getting one any time soon, I tend not to be too dependent on one device for all my needs and wants. I’ll stick to the traditional watch that ticks.
Parramatta stabbing. Does the government need to improve facilities at night in the area or will it always be dangerous?
There is always a given risk for any individual who walks by themselves at night. It’s so much worse overseas but we have the capabilities and resources to improve facilities. Therefore install more deterrents such as cameras, lights and even security guards at numerous check-points.
Ben Stiller hit Fashin Week in Paris to announce Zoolander 2. Will you be going to see the sequel?
I’ve been waiting for this day since 2001. I can’t think of a better way to announce Zoolander 2… fashion week in Paris. Brilliant public relations stunt for the movie.
Do you agree with Tony Abbott that Australia is sick of being lectured to by the UN for our asylum seekers policy?
Arguably two sides to this story. Tony Abbott and the Coalition reducing the number of boats coming towards Australian shores hence the response from his party to the UN. However the policies and measures in detention centres needs to be looked at more which is where the main criticism the UN warrants.
Australian teen joins ISIS, allegedly participates in suicide bombing. Why do you think growing numbers of westerners are joining ISIS?
I reckon that ISIS is using the Westerners’ methods of communication to target these individuals. Doing this through social media, forums and using already established westerner’s in ISIS to convince those vulnerable and susceptible to joining a brainwashed cult. The less publicised attention of ISIS, the better – as a fear factor is being unearthed and those who thrive for that thrill is joining them.
Cards Against Humanity released for free online. Fun game or does it push to many boundaries?
I am not too familiar with this but can only imagine how far this game will go for some laughs.
BBC’s Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has had a petition made to bring him back on air. Should he be brought back or only until the ‘fracas’ has been resolved?
It is funny that despite Jeremy Clarkson throwing racial rants and scandalous remarks that targets the general public, it takes a ‘fracas’ between himself and a director of the show that results in him being suspended. It shows what the BBC’s Top Gear producers priorities are really about.
