Game of Thrones may be ending, but never fear. It’s not the last we’ll hear of Westeros. In a personal blog post published by sadist author, George R. R. Martin himself, the GoT spinoffs have been officially confirmed.
We’ve all known that the blockbuster HBO money cow series was going to get something to keep it going, but no one could totally say what, or when. But earlier this week, we got our first precious confirmation that our thirst for more Westeros drama would be quenched.
George R. R. Martin took to his personal blog to give us all a much needed update. After a short review of Avengers: Endgame (spoiler free!), Martin gets to the real juicy goss.
We have had five different GAME OF THRONES successor shows in development (I mislike the term “spinoffs”) at HBO, and three of them are still moving forward nicely. The one I am not supposed to call THE LONG NIGHT will be shooting later this year, and two other shows remain in the script stage, but are edging closer. What are they about? I cannot say. But maybe some of you should pick up a copy of FIRE & BLOOD and come up with your own theories.
So there you have it. From the sounds of it, at least one will be a prequel. Get yourself hype for all the old kings and queens banging and making the precious babies we all know and love.
Until we hear more, we’ll be keeping our eyes on loose unit Georgie’s blog for any more tasty morsels.
