Sydney’s only New Year’s Eve festival is back and bigger than ever. NYE in the Park is serving us an absolute cracker of a lineup (haha fireworks, lol).
It’s no wonder why this festival sold out last year.
Lead by iconic Sydney-based duo Hermitude and the party DJ wizz that is America’s Girl Talk (USA) for an exclusive NYE in the Park performance. The new lineup includes some exciting young talent that’ll be taking over Victoria Park to ring in the New Year.
Organisers say they are committed to “continue their mission to provide a fuss-free, affordable and fun-filled festival environment, all ending in a crescendo of the festival’s own curated fireworks”. This festival isn’t the overcrowded, overpriced and underwhelming experience Sydney New Years celebrations usually are.
The last two years offered a hugely fun, highly affordable, drama-free night out – with ample space to dance, more bars and toilets than you can poke a stick at.
After announcing a massive headliner world tour and new album (dropping at the end of the month), Hermitude are bound to bring some serious energy to close the festival. And Girl Talk is making a return to Australia for a special, exclusive NYE performance on the mainstage.
Joining them in the lineup gracing the two stages will be SAFIA, ready to showcase the juicy tunes from their sophomore album, and the iconic throwback duo Client Liason, still buzzing after opening for Kylie Minogue (omg).
If that isn’t enough to get you keen, more exciting Australian talent will be tagging along, including festival staples Crooked Colours, dance-royalty Bag Raiders (with a new album dropping this week). Our fave dance-pop pioneers Sneaky Sound System, Van She Tech, and pizza guy Touch Sensitive will be there too.
As well as chart-topping producer Young Franco, brooding indie-pop breakout GRAACE (yeah, the genius behind the spine-tingling viral Like A Version), Melbourne disco-pop sensation Owl Eyes, Alice Ivy, as well as Chase Zera, Jawbreakers, Happiness is Wealth and All My Friends DJs.
Hold on, let me catch my breath. That’s a bloody good list.
Set in the relaxed and spacious Victoria Park in Camperdown, NYE in the Park is a hop skip and a jump from train stations and bus stops. That makes it easy to get to for a “summer sunset session” and to sample the “diverse and ample pop-up bars, street eat delights and fun in the sun festivities.”
If you’re feeling like splurging and celebrating the New Year in style, you can opt for a VIP Garden Experience with a close-to-stage, private viewing garden, “curated gastropub eats, glam teams, powder room and priority entry access.” Not too shabby.
Or, on a whole other level of fancy, the VVIP Skydeck (yes VV fancy) includes an exclusive bar and elevated viewing platform, all-inclusive beverage and premium finger foods, canapes and sliders, and a team of hosts and waitstaff to serve you all night long. Go off
So you better hit up the group chat and rally your mates because, let’s face it, you’re above the hectic wilderness that is the CBD on NYE. You deserve better, you know you do. And NYE in the Park is promising to deliver the best New Year’s Eve(r).
Presale kicks off at 6pm Tuesday 10th September until 9am Wednesday 11th. You can sign up at their website. General sale starts on 10am Wednesday 11th. And you’re going to want to get in quick, it’s going to go off.
Do New Year’s right, celebrate 2019 and ring in 2020 the way you deserve: with banging tunes, banging food, an on-fire lineup and a cracking crowd sure to go-off when the clock strikes 12.
