Holey Sh*t, Aperol Spritz Doughnuts Are Now A Thing

The Aperol Spritz has been the beverage of the summer. $5 Spritz happy hours line the streets of Australian cities and for that, we are truly thankful. The perfection of the bitter fizziness along with a sweet wedge of orange is more than enough to tickle our taste buds and get the drinks flowing.

But wait, there’s more good news. Aperol Spritz doughnuts have been created, as if the drink itself wasn’t enough. The pair go hand in hand to create the perfect boozy afternoon we all lust after.

The doughnuts have been created lovingly by Shortstop Donuts and you can grab them at three bars across Sydney. These include the pop-up Club Aperol Gardens at Untied in Barangaroo, The Winery in Surry Hills and Bungalow 8 in Cockle Bay Wharf. And at just $6 a doughnut, they’re the perfect snack to accompany a spritz or two.

So, down to the nitty-gritty. Each doughnut is filled with house-made Aperol Spritz gel and topped with candied orange peel as well as a delectable orange glaze. And if that’s not enough, they are served with an Aperol-filled pipette for an extra shot of Italian goodness.

The doughnuts are said to be available until the end of February at the above locations so there’s just enough time to squeeze in a few last minute boozy sessions before the colder weather strikes.
