For one magical day a year, the ice cream gods look down on us with mercy and bless the world with free scoops. And I’m proud to announce that today is that day. 2019’s Free Cone Day has officially arrived, so you only have a few more hours to take an extended lunch and get your hands on that good shit.
In a time honoured tradition, Ben & Jerry’s have been fanging out free cones since 1979. What was initially a local thank you to their OG community in Vermont has become a global movement. And now with a cult following, Free Cone Day is an ice cream institution.
Between 12 and 8pm, Scoop Shops are dishing out the goods. If I were you I’d be putting my phone on Do Not Disturb and faking a medical emergency. The lines are bound to be pretty hectic, but you know it’s gonna be worth it.
