The Most Instagram Worthy Hostels Around The World

As much as we rely on mattress and food ratings (among other things) when searching high and low for the world’s best hostels, it’s really the potential for photos that guides our final decision. These are some of the most aesthetically pleasing hostels around the globe to help you in your quest. But just remember, once you’ve taken your pictures, put your phone down and get stuck into the adventure. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need social media to validate your holiday.

Santorini; better known as the island of love. Caveland provides an amazing space with rooms that make you feel like you’re immersed in the surroundings of a cave. Along with the minimalist dorms (and doubles), there’s a huge aqua blue pool and colourful gardens with a backdrop of the traditional Santorinian architecture. Perfect if you’re travelling with your partner.. or looking for one.

Promoting a world without technology, Hello I’m Local is a boutique lover’s dream. White washed walls, wooden floors and endless books. Hang out on the cosy patio by the fire, or crack out a good old fashioned board game. A hostel true to it’s local roots, this one is a must go on your next Euro trip.

#3 99 Surf Lodge – Playa Santana, Nicaragua

Located in the most picturesque position next to Playa Santana, this place delivers world class waves as well as world class scenery. The structure of the lodge itself is ecologically designed to immerse you in the beach lifestyle as much as possible. Splash out on the ocean suite (which boasts sand literally right outside its’ doors) or stay in the modern ocean loft dorm. Either way you’ll catch the waves.. and the ‘grams.

#4 Ccasa Hostel – Nha Trang, Vietnam

Ccasa = Container Casa. This place oozes a classic industrial vibe, with plenty of angles to take those photos. Each recycled shipping container acts as your own fully furnished cabin and huge nets hang high above them for you to relax on (if you dare brave the height). A simplistic yet innovative place to stay when exploring your Vietnamese surrounds.

#5 Rodamón Riad – Marrakesh, Morocco

Marrakesh boasts an abundance of traditional and amazingly designed hostels. Rodamón Riad is among my favourites. The place encloses around a swimming pool (and bar!) surrounded by traditional Moroccan tiles and even hosts a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains. The perfect place to take a break from the chaotic streets of Marrakesh and take some instagrammable shots of the pool and hostel below.

#6 Casa Elemento – Magdalena, Colombia

Perched on a ridge in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, this hostel gives us serious Tarzan vibes. Hike the trails, climb the trees and learn about the local surroundings. From the giant hammocks, you can submerge yourself in nature and take in incredible views of the jungle and mountains below. All this within a hostel that claims a lively bar, amazing local food and nightly campfire.

#7 The Farm – Canggu, Bali

A hostel based purely around its’ local surrounds. The Farm reminds us much of our own Byron Bay. All furniture, food, plants and staff are sourced from the community to create a relaxing place to stay within the rice fields and banana trees of Canggu. Staff will even take you surfing, or to explore secret cliff jumps for extra photo opportunities.
