Japan Decides To Revive Whaling In 2019 For Some Reason

It was announced today by the Japanese government that they have decided to resume whaling practices next July. Japan withdrew from the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling (ICRW) in order to continue commercial whaling…great.

Japan explained that they would only practice whaling within the territorial boundaries and economic zone, and NOT in the Antarctic Ocean where it is prohibited by the ICRW. They have claimed they will ‘contribute to the science-based management of  whale resources…” Right. For science…

Plenty animal activism groups, as well as the general public have taken to social media to show their disgust towards the resumption of whaling.

So what are your opinions on Japan resuming commercial whaling? For or against?
