Reports have come out that comedy icon Kevin Hart is in hospital after suffering back injuries in a car crash near Calabasas, California.
In a media release, the California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 12:45am (local time) when the driver turned onto Mulholland Highway from Cold Canyon Road “lost control” and “rolled over down” an embankment. And the pictures are seriously freaky.
Pray for Kevin Hart🙏….coz this don’t look good

Yeah, the roof has been completely crushed.
According to the relase, two other passengers were in the car, a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, that was driven by Hart’s friend Jared Black at the time. He and the other passenger, his fianceé Rebecca Broxterman, were trapped in the car as a result of the incident. Luckily, she didn’t need hospital treatment.
Hart, on the other hand, “left the scene to his nearby residence” for medical attention before he and Black were taken to nearby hospitals suffering “major back injuries,” the release said.
Police have determined Black was now “under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision”.
Hart is known for his love of classy cars, regularly featuring them on his social media. And the car involved in this accident is suspected to be the 40th birthday present to himself from himself (love that for him) he gifted back in July. He showed it off on his Instagram Story earlier in the weekend.

“I added some more muscle to the family for my 40th…. Welcome home ‘Menace’ #MuscleCarLover.” he captioned the July post.
Fans and celebrities have taken to social media to wish the three involved a speedy recovery and thank their lucky stars it didn’t end in tragedy.
Hope its nothing career ending and that he pulls through! https://t.co/xrJuChk9gf

Let this serve as a lesson for all of us to never driving under the influence, wearing seatbelts, and being cautious on the roads, because this could’ve been a much different report and a much different morning for comedy fans.
Here’s to a speedy recovery for them all!
