New music, new music! This is not a drill.

May has promised to be the month of much needed new tunes and albums. And we can confirm its being delivered with new releases from Arctic Monkeys, Charlie Puth, Courtney Barnett, James Bay and Chvrches.

So, here’s the lowdown on what’s been released, what’s left to come, and what sounds and influences you can expect to hear from these new albums.

Arctic Monkeys: Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino

The wait is over! After almost five years since the release of AM in September 2013, everyone’s favourite indie rock band is back with a new album and fresh tour dates, although we’re still yet to hear if the band will be gracing us with their presence down-under.

You can officially bless your eardrums with the new jazz-influenced album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. It’s available in all your regular music enjoyment areas, so get on it, champs.

Charlie Puth: Voicenotes

You’ve probably heard Charlie Puth’s smash hit’s from his upcoming album Voicenotes. Some of which include Attention and How Long. Unless of course, you’ve been living under a rock for the past year.

If these two pop-rock singles are anything to go by, we can definitely expect big things from Voicenotes which no doubt will be full of pop anthems. Though Puth hasn’t mentioned any tour dates for Australia as of yet, Voicenotes is available to buy and stream now.

Courtney Barnett: Tell Me How You Really Feel

After the global success following the release of Barnett’s debut album ‘Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit’ in 2015, she has kept us on our toes waiting for the next full-length album. The past few years have seen her release a collaborative album ‘Lotta Sea Lice’ with Kurt Vile as well as performing her tunes old and new all over the world.

New singles that have already been released from the upcoming album. Some of which include Need A Little Time, City Looks Pretty and Charity. All the songs are reminiscent of her previous album with some added edginess. Barnett is also set to be touring Australia later this year so definitely look into that too!

James Bay: Electric Light

James Bay has kept his global entourage of fans engaged with his music by teasing tracks from the soon to be released album; Electric Light. So far tracks Slide, Us and Wild Love have been released, promising unique pop beats for the upcoming album.

Bay will be making tour appearances in Australia in July 2018, but if you can’t wait that long to get your fix you can buy Electric Light ASAPPP.

Chvrches: Love Is Dead

After a two year wait since their last album, we finally have an upcoming new album, Love Is Dead.
