In light of World Doughnut Day, Krispy Kreme will offer free doughnuts on Friday 7 June. So call your boss, and tell them you need a day off. This shit only happens once a year, mates.
Krispy Kreme will be giving away 100,000 free doughnuts. That’s a ton of goodness. But, before you get your hopes up, this will only be available at Krispy Kreme storefronts. It will unfortunately not be available at your local 7-11. That’s a major bummer, but like I’m not going to complain about free doughnuts.
There’s only four Krispy Kreme storefronts in Australia, which doesn’t seem like nearly enough. If you live in NSW, QLD, WA or VIC, congratulations: you have free access to (debatably) one of the best breakfast snacks. So please, soak in all that sugary goodness for the rest of the Aussies who can’t.
If you’re bummed about your limited access to free Krispy Kreme (understandable), there’s bound to be a special happening in your local doughnut shop. I mean, it’s World Doughnut Day. And quite frankly, it could even be sweeter than Krispy Kreme’s.
Also, if you don’t have a Krispy Kreme near you, they are offering a 20% off sale online for bulk purchases of 10 plus doughnuts. They’re even offering free delivery on orders of three items or more going to one address. And there’s a speedy delivery option, so you can get your doughnuts within the next day if you place your order before 5pm. It’s worth noting, different rates may apply depending on your purchase.
World Doughnut Day was actually created by The Salvation Army, and it’s meant to commemorate those who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. How sweet is that! Literally!
If you’re one of the lucky ones who has Krispy Kreme close to you, don’t go in expecting to load up on delicious sugary carbohydrates. Every person only gets one doughnut. That’s just the way it is. You may be able to go in once, grab a free doughnut, and go back again wearing a disguise. But at that point you’d really need to get a grip, mate.
