If you’ve seen Endgame and felt the misery of the end of an era coursing through you, you’re not alone. After 11 years and 22 movies of Marvel cinematic magic, it all feels a bit final. I guess they didn’t call it Endgame for nothing.
Well, if you stumbled out of the cinema, starving for more Marvel goodness, I’ve got some good news for you. The team over at Disney’s California Adventure have announced a whole area devoted to Marvel and our beloved Avengers.
Set to open in 2020, Disney have already begun “superhero recruitment”. So if you’re an up and coming actor who’s always dreamed of being a Disney face character, now is your chance.
While Disney’s had your favourite supers wandering around the park for a while now, this is set to be one hell of an all encompassing Marvel extravaganza. The immersive experience is said to feature “interconnected stories” between the Anaheim theme park, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. Hong Kong Disney already has a start on this with their Iron Man and Ant-Man attractions.
Some of the rumoured rides include suiting up with Spider-Man and joining the “Worldwide Engineering Brigade”, or “WEB”. What we do know though, is that it all promises to be an “immersive, interactive experience” with “cutting-edge interface” and “practical effects.”
The land will be taking over the long running “A Bug’s Land”. It’s set to open a year after “Star Wars: Galaxy Edge”, which is opening in time for Summer this year.
But don’t worry, if you do find yourself in Cali before the grand opening, you can still head to the Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT! ride, which has been a hit with fans for a while now.
