You can officially whip out your hair straighteners, and get your marching boots out. Because after the general fabulous news that My Chemical Romance were making a comeback sprung up last week, we’ve now got the double whammy that they’ll be touring Australia via Download Festival.
The naughties emo faves will be joined by equally nostalgic shredders Jimmy Eat World, the Deftones, Clutch and Testament to name a few.
It’s set to be a huge two dates in Melbourne and Sydney, with MCR’s only Oz dates being at Download. So you’ll have to snap up Download tickets if you want to relive all of the classics like Welcome To The Black Parade, I’m Not Okay (I Promise), Famous Last Words and my personal fave Mama.
Sweden’s In Flames are a serious heavy vibe, which are not to be missed. While the lineup also features Byron Bay rockers In Heart’s Wake, and I can guarantee they will absolutely SMASH their set.
But make no mistake MCR is most of the ticket price here (and it will cost you nearly $200). The fact they’re playing no sideshows means Download really have doubled down (sorry) on the teen-angst driven legends, and can ya really blame them?
