Paul Rudd Playing A Dank Millennial To Get Us Young People To Wear Masks Is A Vibe, Fam

Hey, Look at [Paul Rudd], who would’ve thought I could love him more?

Steve Buscemi walked so Paul Rudd could run – or floss, or skatee, or TikTok – his way into millennial hearts.

We all know that the 51 year old actor is basically ageless, courtesy of his unfairly dewy skin and boyish wiles. So it only makes sense that he would be mistaken as a millennial and become the face of a PSA targeted to them.

The Ant-Man actor, and “certified young person”, has been recruited by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, to star in a video urging us youths to wear masks and stop (or “yeet”) this pandemic.

The two minute video follows Rudd in a Billie Eilish-esque yellow hoodie and holding a skateboard as he explains – through a lot of misplaced modern lingo and slang – that millennials have a big role to play in spreading and stopping COVId-19.

“So fam, let’s real talk. Masks? They’re totally beast. So slide that into your DMs and Twitch it,” he says.

“I’m not gonna preach at you like some celebrity, ugh. This is a convo where I talk and you shut up and wear your mask.”

Truly, iconic.

He pretends to take a phone call with Billie Eilish who, too, is wearing a mask – a fact that Paul Rudd wants to “stan” her, a “bae”.

Rudd also reminds us, “hype beasts”, to wear masks to “protect you and your dank squad, because caring about other people is the new not caring about other people.”

As Paul said, “now that’s thick”.

further references include urging us to do “stop the pandemic” and “save grandma” TikTok challenges, and some truly awful beatboxing that turns into a very serious (and worthwhile) reminder.

“Hundreds of thousands of people are dying and it’s preventable. It’s preventable. Just wear a mask, I shouldn’t have to make it fun. It’s science.”

It’s so intentionally bad that it’s brilliant. Check it out.

The video was made with the online magazine First We Feast, and Rudd made sure to include his very own “look at us” meme featuring Hot Ones host, Sean Evans. Except this time there are masks stained with hot wing stains all over them.

I mean, it’s automatically so unbelievable meme-able. And if there’s one way to get to the heart of millennial culture, it’s with memes.

Paul Rudd truly is a gift to the internet and a national treasure. We do not deserve him.

Wear your mask. Do it, fam. Paul said so.
