PSA: The Devil Wears Prada The Musical Is Coming, Feat. Elton John

Everyone’s fav fashion movie is becoming a musical, with tracks from Elton John.

So… It has been confirmed – the 2006 Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep cult film The Devil Wears Prada is being reimagined as a musical next year. Just when you thought this news couldn’t get any more exciting – Elton John has signed on to produce all of the musical numbers, with lyrics from Shaina Taub. (Bennie and the YESSSS!)

The musical will premiere in Chicago next July, then travel to Broadway. It’s still early days, so no international tours have been announced yet. BUT we have all our fingers and toes crossed that it is coming to our shores sometime in the next few years.

So far all we know is that the musical is being directed by Anna D. Shapiro and produced by Kevin McCollum. We’re hoping the script is very similar to the film, because Miranda singing “florals, for spring,” to the tune of Tiny Dancer will be GROUNDBREAKING!

The Hype Is Real

As you can imagine darlings, we’re not the only ones freaking out.

Such a mood.

“Gird your loins!”

PS. Hi Broadway – after The Devil Wears Prada x Elton John, can we have How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days x Lady Gaga? Please and thank you.

Our only other request is to see Anna Wintour in the front row of the premiere, wearing Chanel boots. That is all.
