Rihanna’s New Fenty Line Is Dropping This Week, And The Queen Can Do No Wrong

As if Rihanna hasn’t done enough for us in the past decade, she’s dropping a new fashion line collaborating with luxury fashion power house, LVMH this week. Rihanna leaked a sneak peak of the new line on to her Instagram, and I’m so here for it.

The style is so Rihanna – outside of the box, effortlessly cool, and stylish beyond compare.

This luxury brand is set to break the bank, so while it might not be the most affordable option, it is destined for greatness.

With Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty Lingerie becoming as widely popular as the pop star’s music, one could only wonder where she gets this much inspiration to conquer so many different avenues.

“I use myself as the muse. It’s sweatpants with pearls, or a masculine denim jacket with a corset. I feel like we live in a world where people are embracing every bit of who they are,” Rihanna told T Magazine.

I find comfort in knowing Rihanna is not only my muse, but also a muse to herself. It’s safe to say we should all be striving for Rih-Rih level confidence.

This new line is a historic moment, not only for Rihanna, but for women and people of colour. Rihanna is the first woman to design her own brand for LVMH and the first woman of colour to collaborate with the brand (CRAZY). Yet, her response to the fame is beyond humble.

Her collaboration with LVMH is “unapologetically black” and  “gender and size inclusive”, according to Rihanna herself.

Fenty will launch at a Paris pop-up May 24th and will be available globally online May 28th. The online availability of Fenty is meant to challenge runway fashion that isn’t available for purchase until months later – as if she hasn’t shattered enough grounds.

When Rihanna is not busy dominating the fashion world, she is recording her next album “R9” (finallllyyyyy). She told T Magazine, her next album will reflect her Barbados roots with heavy Reggae influence.

With all this going on, I now understand her absence at this year’s Met Gala (although I’d been waiting all year for it.) She’s slayed the Gala enough times – she needed something more challenging, I suppose.
