Calling all Sydneysiders, boy have we got a treat for you this week. For one day only, our MasterChef mate, Gary Mehigan is transforming SUVs into a wine and cheese experience as you begin the long journey home from work this Thursday.
IMO just the cheese alone would probably do the trick in cheering most of us up when we’ve had a long day at work. But pairing it with McLaren Vale wine is sure to make the commute one, if not the best you’ve ever had. Sure to get you in the perfect mood for the weekend ahead!
Inside the cars, there will be a range of cheeses from local McLaren Vale producers as well as wine from Penny’s Hill and Chapel Hill, some of the best wineries in Adelaide. You’ll also share the ride with a couple of Chief Winemakers and celebrity judge Gary Mehigan himself. The perfect chance to get some tips off them and unleash your inner wine connoisseur.
Chief Winemaker from The d’Arenberg Cube will also be making an appearance to share his knowledge (and wine) with you lucky legends. The Cube is an awesome bit of architecture and well worth a cheeky visit should you find yourself down in SA.
And all you have to do is hail down the van if you see it across Sydney, particularly at the Four Seasons Hotel in the Sydney CBD or throughout North Sydney.
When: 3pm to 7pm Thursday August 30th.
Where: One car will go from Sydney’s Four Seasons Hotel and go to the Eastern Suburbs. The other will go from various locations (Macquarie St, near Sydney Opera House & Royal Botanic Gardens entry, Argyle St & George St, near The Rocks & MCA, Hickson Rd, near Park Hyatt & The Wharf, Alfred St, near Luna Park) in the CBD and head towards the Inner West and North Sydney.
How: Just rock up. Simple as that. You can hail one of the SUV’s down like a cab. Ask them to head towards home (don’t be too cheeky, they won’t take you out too far) and enjoy.
