“I have nothing to wear!”
The dreaded phrase we’ve all said, but instead of creating a mountain of clothes on your bedroom floor, use the new year as motivation to spruce up your closet. It’s easier on the wallet to buy cheaper clothes year round, but when it comes to staple pieces it’s worth investing a little more to fill the wardrobe with timeless pieces (and you might even find some cheeky Christmas left over discounts, especially on items out of season.)
Consider capitalising on the following pieces that are worth splurging a little (or a lot) on, as I like to think of it as “cost per wear”, in the end it’s worth it.
A good trench
If you’re going to add one classic piece to your winter wardrobe, it has to be the honey Burberry trench. Exuding timeless British style, a classic dating back to the late 19th century, this piece has definitely stood the test of time
With prices starting around $2,800, it’s definitely not for the faint hearted and will require some serious investment, but if worn everyday in winter, it works out to $31 per wear!
Ballet Flats
Day, night, casual or dressy, no shoe does it all better than the ballet flats, especially when they’re good quality.
Jeans
Endlessly versatile, jeans have stood the style test of time and there’s no question that staple blue jeans (Nudie Jeans are my personal fave) is close to the most frequently worn item in your closet. Don’t skim just because they’re simple.
The Blazer
The blazer is one piece that you can wear to work or dress up even the most casual outfit. Cue are doing some fab stuff, and deserve a look in.

The Boot
RM Williams boots can we worm as a twist with suit pants or jeans on a night out, these shoes will last you decades if you take care of them.
Fitted Blazer
