The Body Shop Is Bringing A Mrs Claus To Stores This Xmas And We’re So Excited

It’s time for Mrs Claus to enjoy the spotlight, so move over Santa.

When you think of Christmas, Santa is defs among the first few things that spring to mind (besides that delicious Chrissy lunch spread). His dearly beloved doesn’t really make it into the picture unless she’s young, buxom, and clad in a skimpy red outfit with a fluffy white trim. Or she just looks like an overtired mum who’s been slaving away at Christmas prep. The Body Shop have had enough of this version of Mrs Claus, and it’s about bloody time.

This festive season will see some awesome Aussie ladies jumping on board to shake up traditional images of Mrs Claus. Rugby legend Ali Brigginshaw, will join comedian and writer Em Rusciano, and our fave DJ/influencer/all round awesome chick Flex Mami, to flip the run-of-the-mill pic on Santa’s lap on its head. The inspirational ladies will be donning the Christmas colours in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney to offer Aussies the chance to get a pic with Mrs Claus. Fun!!

“Mrs Claus gives us the chance to do things a little different, and encourage a greater chat on equality,” said Flex Mami.

Gender equality, among other social issues, tend to fade into the background for Aussies once the silly season gets into full swing. Most of us decide once we’re on holidays, it’s time to take a break from just about everything. But almost all of us can agree that the bulk of Xmas organisation is done by women, year in and year out.

The 10 bucks from your pic with the new and improved Mrs Claus, will go to Plan International Australia’s Youth Activist Series – a leadership program in 2020 to empower young girls to pursue their dreams.

“This holiday season, our youth activists certainly won’t set aside their passion for gender equality and neither will we,” said Susanne Legena, CEO of Plan International Australia. “The Youth Activist Series nurtures passion and talent, and sets young women up with the skills and confidence to to make a real impact on the issues that matter most.”

Rusciano, Brigginshaw and Flex Mami are all champing at the bit to inspire women and young girls around the country. And honestly, this is so refreshing and such a good vibe in 2019.

“I’m honoured to be working with The Body Shop alongside Em and Flex Mami to celebrate the women of Australia and inspire the next generation to dream big – and remember, ‘don’t put equality on holiday!” said Brigginshaw.

It’s wholesome, it’s empowering and of course it’s a bit of fun. So get around it!

Taking place in Sydney, Mebourne and Brisbane from 29th November to 1st December,
the Mrs Claus photo activation costs $10 for an epic digital photo with Em Rusciano, Flex Mami
or Ali Brigginshaw. All proceeds will go to Plan International Australia, the charity for girls
equality, to launch their 2020 Youth Activist Series, a 12-month training and leadership
program to launch the dreams of Australia’s future change-makers.
