The Breaking Bad Movie Sequel Is On Its Way To Netflix

While news of the hit show Breaking Bad‘s movie sequel has been known for some time, that was just about all we knew about it. Until now…. Ladies and gents, brace yourselves. Sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that Aaron Paul will be reprising his role as Jesse Pinkman as the title character in this full-length feature. These unnamed sources then confirmed that Netflix would have first-run rights to the project, before it airs on the US television network AMC. They also claimed that AMC, Netflix and Sony Pictures TV all declined to comment on the matter, so… As long as they’re not denying it?

That might not be too much more information to work with. But at least it’s something! This is what else we’ve known… Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan confirmed the project last year, as he has been photographed on set in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A die hard fan has also blessed us with a public Instagram page that’s following all the action on the set:

Filming at the Owl Cafe the first week back after the holiday break, 1/08. Views were blocked around the restaurant to supposedly block some big confirming visuals on set.

Vince Gilligan will executively produce the project alongside Breaking Bad franchise collaborators Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. Source say that Gilligan was also direct the “escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom” film. It also has the working title of ‘Greenbrier’, ooooh mysterious…. Again, not too much to work with. But hey, we’re still excited! With production only just starting, at least we have a hell of a lot of time to rewatch the series and prepare ourselves. Take a look at what Aaron Paul had to say on the Ellen Show:
