FREE TREES. SYDNEY. THIS WEEKEND. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
Where: Sydney Park Road, St Peters.
When: March 30, 10am
Cost: TOTALLY FREE
If, like me, you’ve realised that furnishing your home with the cutest, itsy-bitsy leaf babies is a costly process then LISTEN UP. The City of Sydney has come to our rescue and will be handing out 1,000 free trees this weekend. It’s happening at Sydney Park from 10am!
Now is the time to whip out that green thumb, people!
If, like me, you’re quite unsure about the whole gardening craze then have a chat to one of the knowledgable horticultural staff about how to properly care for your plant like the little leaf baby it is. There will be a whole range of different, beautifully unique, trees from native to exotic species, even citrus trees (hello lemon tarts and fresh OJ).
You’ll also find what they’re calling ‘bigger leaf boys’ like jacarandas, cheese trees (nothing to do with cheese, unfortunately), and water gums. Super duper pretty, flowering plants will also be up for grabs including bottle brush, hibiscus and gardenias.
WELL if this little giveaway hasn’t absolutely made your day, you must be some kind of unappreciative, tree hating doozy that doesn’t deserve a free plant. Head on down people, beautiful leaf babies are waiting for their Mumma.
FYI, to score free foliage you’ll have to live in one of the following areas: Alexandria, Annandale, Barangaroo, Beaconsfield, Camperdown, Centennial Park, Chippendale, Darlinghurst, Darlington, Dawes Point, Elizabeth Bay, Erskineville, Eveleigh, Forest Lodge, Glebe, Haymarket, Millers Point, Moore Park, Newtown, Paddington, Potts Point, Pyrmont, Redfern, Rosebery, Rushcutters Bay, St Peters, Surry Hills, Sydney, the Rocks, Ultimo, Waterloo, Woolloomooloo and Zetland.
