The Gods of the early noughties have blessed us today, with the cheesiest, So Fresh style festival line-up for So Pop Festival, coming to Australia early next year.
Girls, it’s time to whip out your scrunchies and skinny scarves and guys, resurrect your bleached tips and fedoras, because the Pussycat Dolls are coming! The American girl group responsible for hits like ‘Don’t Cha,’ ‘When I Grow Up,’ and ‘Buttons,’ are headlining this pop lover’s dream festival.
Alongside the Pussycat Dolls are bootscootin’ babies Steps, famous for their absolute bop, ‘5,6,7,8.’ Teen heartthrob, Jesse McCartney is also joining the party and belting out ‘Beautiful Soul,’ (which 10-year-old me listened to on repeat on my iPod Shuffle). To top it all off, Smash Mouth, the American rock band who produced ‘All Star,’ and ‘I’m A Believer,’ (made famous by Shrek) will also be performing. Could this lineup get any better?
The Video Line-Up Is Giving Me So Much Nostalgia
So Pop Festival published a video line-up to their Facebook page this morning and I’m not kidding, it is the best I have ever seen. The video includes so many noughties pop culture references that I completely forgot about.
Three girls with side ponytails, Ugg Boots, and headbands flick through programs on their tiny little TV, including The Notebook, Pimp My Ride, 10 Things I Hate About You and Malcom In The Middle. The video features a pink Motorola flip phone (every noughties girl’s dream phone), Hubba Bubba and SingStar. The mems!
