These 5 Insta Accounts Are Your Bible For Living Eco Friendly

Whilst sustainable living has always been important, living eco-friendly is suddenly popping up on everyone’s radars. It’s about bloody time that celebrating our inner eco-warriors became an accessible and achievable lifestyle. Sustainable living is increasingly plastered over my social feeds. Honestly, it’s a welcomed break from the unattainable bikini bodies I see on the daily, and it’s the kind of heart-warming content I can actually get around.

Living sustainably and making greener lifestyle changes can often be difficult, especially when you’re stuck for where to buy those beeswax food wraps you’ve seen online, or why it’s important to repurpose jars and other kitchen bits. Well rest easy my little eco-warriors and take a load off because we’ve done all the hard yards for you. Here are 5 eco-friendly insta accounts that you need to have on your radar.

Living sustainably is also about making lifestyle changes that are realistic and well, sustainable. @GoodOnYou recognise that for the majority of us, it’s often extremely difficult to always purchase clothes from eco-friendly stores and boutiques. So, when we do choose to purchase from mainstream clothing manufacturers, which brands are greener? @GoodOnYou rate top fashion brands based on their supply chains, carbon emissions and energy and water use. It’s a simple way to start shopping more ethically.

Carrying your shopping home in a bag made from “rubbish” never looked so good… Stylish and strong, Onya reusable shopping bags are made from rPET which is a material made from recycled plastic drink bottles that were otherwise destined for landfill. And when the bags have reached the end of their long life cycle, they are 100% recyclable themselves. – – – #thinkreusable #onyalife #bcorp #zerowaste #choosetoreuse #waronwaste #reusable #lowwaste #reusablebag #shoppingbag #recycled #reuse #recyclable #circulareconomy #sustainable #eco #greenliving #ecolife #conciousconsumer #minimalwaste #shopping #flowers #bread #groceries #supermarket

A record-breaking month of rooftop installations and a flood of large-scale solar farms could almost double Australia’s solar power capacity in a single year, industry analysts say. A massive solar energy boom is being predicted for 2018, after an unprecedented number of industrial solar farms were approved by the NSW and QLD governments last year – resulting in nearly 30 new industrial solar farms are scheduled to come on line. Last month also became the biggest January on record for rooftop installations. Every 60 seconds, a truck load of plastic enters the ocean, a horrifying stat from @greenpeace. Another horrifying one: between 7-9% of all plastic produced is actually recycled, which means over 90% isn’t. Statistics are often hard to visualise, but one of our favourite ‘artivists’ @vonwong through his incredible works of art, shows you what a truck load of plastic entering our oceans looks like every minute of every day. All living beings have the right to access healthy, clean water that is free from plastic and microplastics. How are you (and your fave brands) helping to break free from the cultural addiction to single-use plastic? What plastic alternatives are you/your business using instead? Eco Warrior Princess is the definition of a one stop sustainability shop; offering a community and platform for businesses and individuals to spread eco-friendly media as far and wide as possible. Eco Warrior Princess is all about expanding ‘green intelligence’ (just one of their handy buzzwords I’ll definitely be using) by integrating environmental matters with a whole range of other issues such as social justice and feminism into a network of information accessible to all. Their insta is a beautiful amalgamation of the huge range of work they’re doing.

So with such an abundance of easy and achievable tips and tricks out there, what’s your excuse?
