These Delish Food Festivals Are Coming To Melbourne This Month

Winter is sounding a little less drab and a little more flab

Foodie fiends, it’s a great month to be in Melbourne. While the city is notably not one to shy away from fab food festivals, June is sounding more delish than ever. Outlast the cold by gaining a few extra kilos!

From endless brownies to dumplings to bottomless espresso martinis, winter is sounding a little less drab and a little more flab. And I’m so here for it.

Melbourne’s First Brownie Festival

Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Cream are gracing Melbourne again with a Brownie Festival from Wednesday 12 June to Sunday 23 June. These chocolatiers are cranking out 16 different types of brownies, including brownie pops, brownie bombs and brownie bites available in their brownie bar. Um, yes please.

There will even be brownie-inspired hot cocoa, waffles, sundaes and dessert pizzas. So like, death by chocolate is sounding like a pretty great way to go out.

For those of you who enjoy baking, this festival even offers a workshop for you to bake and sample six different types of brownies, while sipping on brownie hot chocolate. You can even indulge in some brownie ice cream. Booking a spot online (and wearing stretchy pants) is essential to attend the tasting.

Bottomless Beverages at SuperSmall City Club

Supersmall City Club is hosting a bottomless beverage special once a weekend, kicking off Sunday 9 June and running through Saturday 13 July. To reach this sweet deal, you’ll have to pre-order tickets online. With the purchase of a ticket, you’ll have to choose between spirits or beer – unfortunately, you can’t have both. Which, ya know, works out, because “beer before liquor, never sicker” is a very serious thing.

Hey, cocktail lovers: endless espresso martinis, mojitos, frosè, watermelon daiquiris and more feature on this bottomless menu. Furphy’s, VB, Peroni and Somersby Apple Cider make the cut for fellow beer/cider drinkers. While the bottomless night lasts from 6:30pm–10pm, tickets run in two hour intervals. But like, two hours of endless alcohol is probably enough. Maybe.

Dimmie & Dumpling Festival

The Dimmy & Dumpling Festival is coming back to Thornbury on Saturday 22 June. The promise here is “some of the best dimmies [dim sims] and dumplings in Melbourne and around the globe.”  From 12pm–10pm for one day only, you can feast on all the Asian-inspired goodness you can handle. With vegetarian and vegan options complimenting a wide array of meat dumplings, there’s bound to be something to suit everyone’s taste.

Naturally, alcoholic beverages will also be around. So they suggest taking public transport and making a day out of it. Plus, you can also bring your dog. Dogs, dumplings, and drinks—I’m sold.
