Do we need a marriage plebiscite or should the parliament just take a vote on gay marriage?

Australia is so behind with the legalisation of same-sex marriage. Let people be with who they want to be with and love who they want to love. I don’t think anyone should have the power to deny consensual adults of their right to enter a legally binding contract.

Drake and Rihanna, love or over it?

I pride myself on my abundance of pointless celebrity knowledge and I had no clue that these two were together. I’m yet to watch the VMAs so I’ll get back to you on this one.

Schools taking measures to stop girls taking nudes, right avenue or misdirection of blame?

A complete misdirection of blame. The true issue with image sharing is the breach of privacy and the lack of consent. The problem comes from the misguided sense of entitlement of those who share the images.

Pokemon burgers, tasty novelty or overkill?

The more good burgers in this world, the better. I haven’t played Pokemon Go and they’re definitely capitalising on the current craze, but if it’s a delicious burger then I’ll allow it.

iPhone 7 removing the headphone jack for a USB port, good or inconvenient?

I can see the appeal of Bluetooth headphones, but I am pro-choice! I don’t want to be forced to get them, I’d miss the solid 2 hours I spend untangling my headphones.

Should other states follow suit of Victoria banning fracking?

Yes, Australia needs to start considering its future and how to best use its resources. The more sustainable decisions we make now, the better off we will be in the long run. It’s about fracking time we made decisions geared towards our environment.

#It’sOkToTalk hashtag on social media, a conversation starter or social fad?

It’s both. Even though it’s a social fad, it’s still a starting point for that dialogue. I think it’s important that we’re actually talking about male suicide. We need to get rid of the idea that “being a man” means repressing your feelings and not working through those emotions. The more people refuting this masculine stereotype, the better!

A poll this week indicated the majority of young people support lockout laws, an inflation of figures or truth?

Really? I’m surprised by that, I thought most people were frustrated by the lockout laws. To be honest, they haven’t affected me too much, but I’d say it’s an inflation of figures. For a city the size of Sydney, I think it is bizarre that everything shuts down so early. I wonder who ran the poll and who was chosen to participate, I’ll have to look into this.

Gilmore Girls revival, who do you think the ladies will end up with respectively?

Definitely the most poignant and thought-provoking question of them all! I have been re-watching all the seasons in preparation for this iconic moment. Obviously Lorelai and Luke are soul mates, so they better be together or I’ll be mad (hopefully April has been shipped off to boarding school). For Rory, I don’t know. Jess and her had the best connection, but he was a bit of an asshole. Logan was also a bit of an asshole. And Dean was too vanilla. Maybe she will be an independent, equally-paid, anti-fracking, Bluetooth-headphone-wearing, nude-selfie-taking woman?!

Equal pay, a distant dream or deserved right?

100% a deserved right. It is ridiculous that equal pay is not a reality and I can’t believe this still is a topic to deliberate. Women and men deserve equal pay, simple as that.
