Why One Night Stands Shouldn’t Be Shameful

One night stands have been turned into something of total shame thanks to media, entertainment and people’s general opinions. Everyone does them, and still everyone feels a strong amount of shame the next morning. Why should we feel ashamed? It’s our body, so surely, it’s our choice? Your business is your business and no one else’s. Here’s why you shouldn’t be ashamed of one night stands anymore.

First of all, sex is a natural, normal activity that humans are meant to partake in. Not only is it normal, but there’s plenty of health benefits to sex regularly. It’s a stress reliever, a cardio exercise and a natural pain killer. Having casual, random sex is totally healthy and will keep your body in really great shape internally and externally, so don’t even sweat it.

You’re In Control

Your body, your life. Maybe the most important part to not be ashamed of a one night stand is because it is your choice, and your choice only. Comfortable or uncomfortable with one night stands, but if you are having one night stands, only you can decide on your sexual actions. You’re completely in control. Remember, you don’t have to tell anyone about it either. You’re the boss.

You Learn About Your Wants

Your one night stands may be educational in terms of your body. Through undergoing several different sexual experiences, you can really come to understand what you like and don’t like. This is so valuable in your future of potential partners or other sexual experiences. Learning what you want and enjoy can increase your sense of confidence and good self-esteem. This can overall improve your reaction to other sexual experiences.

You Decide The Aftermath

The aftermath of a one night stand can provide you relief. It is your choice whether you want to continue the relationship with the person or if you’d rather block their number and never see them again. Again, you’re the boss here. There’s no right and wrong to how you want you want the experience to continue or end. You have no responsibility for that person. Easy. ‘

Don’t forget that you’re the boss of your body. Whatever you want to do or don’t want to do, it’s your choice. Just always remember to stay safe and use contraception if this person is someone you don’t really know. It’s always important to protect your own body. Do your thang and have fun. There’s no reason for shame.
