We all knew that Brian May was very rock and roll – I mean, any man with that hair is very rock and roll. But seeing him shred out a guitar riff with a cute as hell koala on his shoulder is probably the most rock and roll thing he’s done yet.

You may be cool, but you will never be Brian May with a koala on his shoulder cool.
Of course, Brian and the whole Queen + Adam Lambert gang are in town for Fire Fight Ausrtalia. The sold-out concert at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium is paying tribute to our bloody legendary firefighters who have been battling bushfires around the country for months.
And, perhaps, in the best news yet, days ago it was announced that all bush and grass fires burning across NSW have been contained for the first time this bushfire season.
All funds raised from the concert will also be shared between Red Cross’ disaster relief and recover fund, rural and regional fire services, and the RSPCA’s bushfire appeal. That’s coming from ticket sales and public donations during the event – and some artists are donating the money made from their merch sold at the event.
It’s just goodness on good vibes on good will and it’s gonna be a bloody good time. Especially with fundraising goddess and the people’s PM, Celeste Barber, on hosting duty.
The line-up features some of our triple j faves Baker Boy and Amy Shark. We’ve also got plenty of Aussie legends – Daryl Braithwaite, John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John, and 5 Seconds of Summer. And, of course, the big guns of Michael Bublé and Queen + Adam Lambert
So yeah, it’s gonna be large.
And I guess Queen are now Queen + Adam Lambert + a super cute, cuddly, koala. I’m not mad about it.
Tune in to Channel 7 right now (or stream it live on 7plus) to catch the concert in action.
