Chris Hemsworth Will Play Hulk Hogan In New Biopic, And We Are Ready Brother

Our very own gorgeous Aussie Chris Hemsworth is set to play Hulk Hogan in the very exciting, new biopic. Hulkamania is going to run wild. The movie is reuniting Todd Phillips and Scott Silver, the director and writer from the upcoming DC Comics movie The Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix. The screenplay will be written by John Pollono, the writer from the very successful 2017 movie Stronger, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. The Academy award winner behind Spotlight, Michael Sugar, along with Phillips and Bradley Cooper, will be producing the biopic. If you really need more hyping than that, this video tells you everything you need to know about Hulk Hogan:

The biopic is serving as an origin story in the WWF for the icon. He was born Terry Gene Bollea, and begun his wrestling career in the late 1970’s. Often seen squaring off with the famous Andre the Giant, we will see Hogan’s rise in wrestling during the 80’s. Hogan’s hero persona quickly became the face of the WWF when the organisation begun to expand to a national scope. The late 80’s had Hogan frequenting magazine covers, and nightly talk shows. Like all stars that seemingly peak too early with fame, Hogan’s 21st century persona has seen him involved in a sex-tape scandal and other personal conflicts. However, sources told the Hollywood Reporter: “The biopic will not delve into those years or attempt to encompass an entire life. Instead sources say it will focus on Hoganโ€™s rise and is described as an origin story of the Hulkster and Hulkamania.”

The film is currently in negotiations to premiere on Netflix. There’s no word on whether it will hit theatres before premiering on Netflix, or when the production will even begin. Lucky Chris Hemsworth has already given us a glimpse of what he looks like with that classic 70’s ‘stache:
