5 Sydney Dance & Electro Acts Making Waves

Australia’s dance and electronic scene is sprawling with so much talent it is hard to single out one or even two artists who are due to hit it big. Luckily, say goodbye to the guesswork, cause these are some of the brilliant artists who are killing it now and will continue to do so right throughout 2017. You heard it hear first, make sure your friends know you knew them before they were big.

Mira Boru

With a name that is the literal translation of disco ball, Mira Boru is the embodiment of all that is groovy. Her love for Afro-disco and Funk will spin you back to the twilight days of the 80s and will surely keep you pumped until the early hours. If you dig her sound be sure to catch Mira Boru on FBi’s Thursday Sunset as she explores the producers you should be keeping on your radar.

Corin

Somewhat vexing and sporadic, the sounds that Corin piece together really need a moment to take in. Sharing her fascination of a ‘technological humanity’ – what you will experience is shattering mechanical sounds submerged in grime instrumentals. For this, Corin is bound to become your favourite underground artist that you pray will never be dismantled by mainstream limelight. Corin has recently released her EP Virtuality that is laced with dystopian goodness.

Froyo

If a generous serving of Synthpop is what you’re after then Froyo is the delicious overdose you need. Happily embracing all that was great with disco, Froyo create fun beats that you can easily dance your youth away to. Having recently opened at Sydney’s The Plot, Froyo are feeling the love with a number of tours coming up and the possibility to feature in this year’s Hottest 100. If you want a sample, be sure to give Pride a play which coincidently is the track you can vote for.

Enschway

If you dig Flume, GRMM or Just A Gent then local producer Enschway will fit right into your playlist. Having already amassed a strong following on Soundcloud, conquered an international tour and released a EP on the same label as the likes of What So Not, it is certain that Enschway is due for big things. Latest offering Taking Hold, that Enschway produced with local star Kuren is a banger in the purest form. If you’re wanting to get a good dance during the summer season make sure to see Enschway if he is performing near you.

Bel Moss

Already making big waves with her debut track, Bel Moss is prime to become your next favourite producer. With Inside Out maintaining the number one spot on the Triple J Unearthed chart for a week now, there are no signs of it coming off anytime soon. Showcasing a deep understanding for Bass and House, it’ll be interesting to see what Bel Moss follows up with.

Make sure to keep your gaze fixated on these producers as 2017 is surely going to be a big year for them.
