Iconic Women and Eternal Style

“I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls”, said the classically styled Audrey Hepburn, and if that is true, then she must have been ecstatic when filming Breakfast at Tiffany’s because she looked absolutely exceptional draped in pearls in that iconic Givenchy Black Dress. The Belgium born actress had it all – charm, innocence, talent and the wardrobe to suit the role. Whether she wore a scarf, hat or even a tiara, Audrey Hepburn encompassed a style that was gracious and timeless. She taught the world the class behind styling a fringe and bun – ultimately Audrey Hepburn became a synonym for style.

Jacqueline Kennedy, also remembered as Jackie O, was a First Lady who was renowned for her elegance, grace and immaculate style. Her mantra – “I am woman above anything else” – gave her the confidence to embrace her own sense of style and show women around the world that even as the President’s wife, you can keep heads turning.

Miss Marilyn said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world”. Her signature white-blonde hair, bright red lips and perfect beauty spot, has made her one of the most recognizable faces and icon for womanly beauty in the world. Born in 1926, the actress starred in over 25 films throughout her career. The ivory cocktail dress in The Seven Year Itch has become one of the most memorable moments in 20th Century film.

Princess Diana was known for many things including her charity, difficulties in her marriage and total compassion for others, but most of all, she is remembered for her sense of Royal-Chic style. Jackie O even described her as “beautiful, elegant and very stylish”. She was the type of woman who mastered any look; a white shirt and denim jeans, to a floor length cocktail dress embellished with navy blue sequins, to her iconic eight metre long ivory wedding dress. The Princess of Wales liked big hair, big hats and big shoulder pads, and was not only the People’s Princess because of her personality, but also because of her unforgettable and flawless style.

Jennifer Aniston was the ultimate girl next door of the 1990’s who managed her way into our hearts with her constantly changing effortless sense of style and sophistication. She has the ability turn simple everyday pieces like a black blazer and a fitted denim jean to create a picture of absolute chic. The first ever GQ Magazine Woman of the year is still considered one of the world’s sexiest women, even in her mid-forties. She took casual-sexy to a whole new level, not to mention the ‘Rachel hair cut’ from Friends becoming the most popular style requested by women all around the world, and for good reason.

The world of fashion thanks these women for bringing their individual style to the everyday woman and encouraging them to dig down and find their inner fashionista.
