Get ready to consume some of the best BBQ chicken you could ever imagine. This casual Lebanese eatery cooks up slow roasted charcoal chicken, serving it with a pile of pickles, a little bag of Lebanese bread and enough garlic sauce to ward off any potential lover. The El Jannah Empire extends over most of Western Sydney, but the Punchbowl location is a personal fave.
Haymarket – Chinese Noodle House
You shouldn’t even be surprised to see this gem here. Not the fanciest of restaurants but definitely authentic, Chinese Noodle House will serve you all the traditional dishes of Northern China. Think hand pulled noodle and the most insane pork dumplings you’ll ever experience. The best bit is most dishes are under $15. You’re in for a cheap feed.
Footscray – To’s Bakery
Who doesn’t love to pop out of the office for a cheeky Vietnamese roll. Well if you’re after the best, the cheapest and the most authentic head to To’s where the heftiest bahn mi is only $5.50. Even better, plenty of traditional Vietnamese desserts are on offer including sticky rice and taro.
Carlton – Legit Most Places On Lygon Street
It’s hard to pick the best on the best on the literal Italian haven that is Lygon Street. Most restaurants will serve up authentic hand made pizza and pasta dishes that are sure to get your tastebuds craving for more.
East Terrace – Africola
Experience the bush meats that are traditionally South Africa, complete with a large fire pit in the kitchen. Africola is perfectly set with not only incredible barbeque but chille reggae beats and cocktail shaking. Even better for $85 you can experience everything the restaurant has to offer.
CBD – Wasai Japanese Kitchen
If online reviews are anything to go by, well then you know that this will be the best and most authentic Japanese you will experience in Adelaide. Serving up the freshest sushi and sashimi platters and of course some great Donkatsu’s. The best bit. You can wash it all down with bottle of Sake.
Albion – Efes One Turkish Restaurant
It was Brissy’s first Turkish Restaurant and boy does it provide the goods. The authentic eats are accompanied by great service and belly dancing on the weekend to complete the experience. Be sure to finish off your meal with a cup of Turkish coffee and the sweetest baklava.
West End – Lefkas Taverna
Dive into the village style atmosphere of this Greek eatery and you’ll be left with a full belly and a big smile. Serving tradition food, Lefkas serves the best Greek style seafood on offer as well as classic yiros.
Northbridge – Old Lane Street Eats
It doesn’t get more authentic than cheap street eats, and Old Lane is serving up all the goods of South East Asia. From boa to satay and curry dishes, you and your tastebuds won’t be disappointed. Located in the heart of Chinatown, the buzzing atmosphere is sure to uplift your eating experience.
Leederville – Pinchos Bar De Tapas
Bringing the tastes of Spain to the Aussie West Coast, Pinchos is Perth’s first proper tapas bar open for all the meals of the day. Plenty of pinchos (the dishes you get at tapas) on offer, like grilled chorizo, marinated olive and Spanish style hams. Even better they all start at $1 and jugs of sangria are under $20. Cheering.
