Vivid 2019 Has Transformed Into A Star Studded Music Festival With After Parties And Other Cool Stuff

Please let go of all past assumptions that Vivid is JUST a pretty light display, people. The crew behind Vivid have spent the entire past year mind-mapping some juicy ideas and they’ve come up with the bloody goods. Vivid now features a kicker lineup of artists we know and love (ahem, The Cure and Hayden James anyone?!), insightful discussions with internationally renowned heavy hitters from Hollywood and beyond, and much, MUCH more.

They’ve literally reinvented themselves into a musically charged, intellectually stimulating 3 week festival that’s nothing but LIT. Literally (sorry). Here’s what you’re in for at Vivid 2019 and all the reasons why you need to keep these horribly cold mid-winter weeks in your calendar free.

Vivid Music Lineup

Vivid’s headliner is none other than The Cure, Britain’s pre-eminent sadbois. Other top notch artists include Maggie Rogers, Rufus Dü Sol, gravy-making icon Paul Kelly, FKA Twigs and Mallrat. Check out other gigs by Sharon Van Etten, Underworld and Stella Donnelly. I’m dead, this line up is jaw dropping.

Another thing to pencil in your diary is the official Vivid party at the iconic Marlborough Hotel. You heard right, Vivid’s running the Marley Bar! The lineup is yet to be dropped for the Marley takeover so stay tuned…

Vivid Ideas

Like I said, please set free to your extremely outdated assumptions of Vivid being only a light show. This year will feature a whole star studded program of huge names, including Academy Award-winning director Spike Lee. Sit down with renowned love guru Esther Perel for her take on ‘modern love in the digital age’ OR learn more about all things sex technology with Bryony Cole. Ugh, I can feel my brain cells multiplying already.

Vivid Light

Robot Spaceland is now a thing and I’m down for it. All the interactive light displays we’ve learned to obsess over and flood our Insta stories with will also have refreshing, updated twists. Check out The Harp of the City which combines lights with instrumental sounds (love a sensory overload), or wander over to the Bubble Magician.

So essentially there’s a whole program of unmissable stuff awaiting you. Clear your diaries, round up ya mates and be shamelessly available for Vivid this year. It’s gonna be kicker.
