Attention all music creators, collaborators and lovers, Red Bull Music Academy is taking over our shores. Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the world-renowned festival Red Bull Music Academy Weekender returns to the city of Sydney. The event will be taking place from the 31st August to the 3rd September, with a series of live performances, conversations with pioneering artists, club nights and audio-visual installations.
It’s a celebration of global icons and young talents, driving progression and new ideas in music. And we Sydney siders are lucky enough to join previous host cities like Tokyo, Dubai and Stockholm. This year we see Tony Humphries make his debut in Oz, Aboriginal reggae rock legends No Fixed Address and ARIA award winners Colour Stone reunite in Redfern and darkwave duchess ABRA gives her maiden Australian performances. You can check out the full line up and details here.
But there is no need to fear if you aren’t located on this pocket of the East Coast, the Road to Weekender will also travel to Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane for a series of signature events from August 26 to August 31.
