Vivid LIVE have just announced that the beloved British rock band The Cure are returning to our gracious shores. And yes, we’re in love! The Cure will be performing for four nights at the Opera House’s Concert Hall stage. Vivid LIVE is home to the best in contemporary music within Sydney’s annual festival of lights, music and ideas. Now evolving into its second decade, it returns this year between 24 May and 15 June. The rest of the line-up will be released in March. The Cure were last here in 2016 when they headlined Splendour In The Grass. Look at the spectacle we were blessed with!

They are kicking off their ‘Disintegration 30 Year Anniversary’ concert right here in Sydney. The announcement said: “Following unforgettable, one-off performances for Vivid LIVE in 2011 – in which the band played Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds, and Faith in their entirety – The Cure are set to deliver another once-in-a-lifetime show, accompanied by an evocative visual backdrop in the fittingly atmospheric surrounds of the Concert Hall. Smith and his band will also play a selection of rarely performed B-sides plus specially curated deep catalogue cuts after each performance of Disintegration.“
Tickets are offered through a ballot. This method, of course, staying true to the style of Vivid from previous years. The Sydney Opera House website allows for the public to sign up to be in the chance of attending these very exciting, special shows. That ballot is now open and closes at 11:59pm on Sunday 24 February. If you’re selected, you’ll be able to buy tickets on Thursday 28 February. The Cure will be performing on the following dates: Friday 24 May, Saturday 25 May, Monday 27 May, and Tuesday 28 May. So sign up before it’s too late!
