Donald Glover’s Atlanta Renewed For Season 4, So Get Ready For All Of The Pop Culture References

KEEEEEEEEEN.

You’re about to get a whole lot more of your favourite I-can-do-everything man. That’s right friends, your boii Donald Glover has just had hit hit TV favourite, Atlanta, reviewed for a fourth season.

Atlanta has become such a well written and referenced show, with so many well thought out and effective nods to pop culture icons and moments, along the way. And with no shortage of scandals, breakthrough music and film over the past 12 months – the next two seasons should be a damn fun time. Especially as Donald spits his final quacks on the whole Gambino project (let’s hope it’s not the end of the far-from-looney tunes from Childish).

The news is not a huge surprise, but still exciting nonetheless, with FX ordering a fourth season at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in the States. Entertainment head Eric Schrier announced that DG and co had been commissioned for the fourth time, and both S3 and S4 would be produced in the coming months – with eight eps in each season.

“What more can be said about Atlanta than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald [Glover], Paul [Simms], Dianne [McGunigle], Stephen [Glover] and Hiro [Murai] have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television. This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners.”
– Eric Schrier

It’s hugely exciting news for a show that continues to break boundaries, and I’m PUMPED for it to hit our screens.
