This Boujee Foodie Hamper Is Your Iso Picnic Dream (And Proceeds Go To Charity)

Yes PLS.

With NSW reporting a spike in COVID cases today, and Melbourne showing no signs of slowing down – it seems like restrictions aren’t going away any time soon. BUT, amidst all the at home socialising, and small outdoor gatherings, this boujee hamper brand is here to save the day.

Known for their ‘Instagrammable’ picnics and delicious catering, Pretty as a Picnic is a fun, freshly-made hamper brand. They essentially create stunning grazing tables, foodie hampers and picnic setups – but like many businesses in Oz, COVID has forced a bit of a pivot.

So the brand has teamed up with Legacy (aka the charity responsible for those SUPER CUTE little bandaged teddies), to bring you a series of Legacy Week hampers full of deliciousness – and definitely worth photographing.

“We’ve had to pivot our offering from catering large picnics and events to offering picnic hampers. What better way to do that, than to collaborate with a brilliant organisation like Legacy in NSW and give something back to the community who has served our country,” sai Pretty as a Picnic Founder, Lauren Beard.

Offering picnic hampers for two or four people, Pretty as a Picnic will also sell Legacy’s famously cute teddy bears and Legacy picnic blankets.

Legacy Week (30 August – 5 September 2020) is the time when Legacy is out and about in force, telling the public about the great work it does helping the families of veterans who have given their lives or health.

And the restrictions and lack of general people in public means that a lot of charities have also experienced a massive decline in donations. And while many may argue that some charities take it a bit too far with their endless hounding out the front of stations and bus stops (I see you), Legacy are one of the better ones.

Traditionally, fundraising during Legacy Week involves volunteers and defence force members selling Legacy badges and teddy bears in busy parts of Australia’s cities.

With the country still feeling the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face fundraising in Greater Sydney has now been cancelled, and so the picnic hampers are a way to support Legacy and veterans’ families. Picnic hampers can be ordered online for people and their immediate circle of loved ones, at a safe social distance from others.

The two person picnic hampers will include three cheeses, crackers, cured meats, humus, dried fruits, fresh fruit, chocolates and nuts; with a nut free and vegetarian option available as well (I’M DROOLING).

They’re also doing four-person hampers, with four wraps, three cheeses, crackers, dried fruits and nuts in one half and then chocolate brownies, lollies and fresh fruits in the other – delish.

From all of these hampers, $20 from each one sold will go directly to Legacy so that they can continue their amazing work to support the families of those who have served in the Australian Defence Force.

I love that, and it means you can enjoy the boujee side of life during lockdowns, and know that you’re contributing to a bigger picture while doing it.

Hampers are currently available for purchase and gifting in Sydney and Melbourne.
